Chrysocolla – Congo (natural mineral)
Chrysocolla from Congo is an attractive natural mineral with a typical blue-green to turquoise color, which is caused by the presence of copper. It is a secondary mineral of copper, often found in association with quartz, malachite, azurite or cuprite, which increases its aesthetic and collector's value.
Chemically, it is a hydrated copper silicate, the composition of which can vary depending on the location and conditions of formation. Chrysocolla from the Congo region is valued especially for its rich colors, natural pattern and contrasting structure. The surface may have small natural irregularities, which confirm its authentic origin.
The mineral is suitable for both collectors and for the production of original jewelry or design objects.
