A unique rare mineral specimen from Congo, where finely crystallized quartz covers chrysocolla, which created a pseudomorphosis after an unknown columnar mineral - probably after malachite.
This creates a visually very attractive contrast between the blue-green chrysocolla and the translucent quartz crystals on the surface. Pseudomorphosis - chrysocolla replaced another mineral, while preserving its shape. Pseudomorphoses are rare and highly valued phenomena. This specimen will interest collectors and lovers of natural unique items.
Weight: 60 g
Dimensions: 7.66 x 4.53 x 2.26 cm

Chrysokol is a complex copper silicate. It most often has a bright cyan (blue-green) color and its hardness is 2.5 to 7.0. It is located in the oxidation zone of copper ores. Associated minerals are quartz, limonite, azurite, malachite, cuprite and other secondary copper minerals.
If it is lighter in color, it can be mistaken for turquoise.
Chrysokol is very well made and has been a popular raw material in jewelry since ancient times.
