Description

Scolecite on Stilbite from India

An attractive natural specimen of scolecite on stilbite from India, combining delicate white to milky translucent radial crystals of scolecite with a creamy beige to honey-colored stilbite matrix. The scolecite forms distinctive needle-like and radiating crystal clusters that resemble white flowers or snow-like rosettes. The contrast between the bright scolecite and the warm-toned stilbite gives the whole specimen a very aesthetic, clean and decorative appearance.

Both scolecite and stilbite belong to the zeolite mineral group, which typically forms in cavities of volcanic rocks. Indian zeolites are highly valued in the world of mineral collecting for their beautifully developed crystals, light colors, three-dimensional aggregates and exceptionally decorative mineral combinations. This specimen is suitable for a mineral collection, display cabinet or as a natural interior mineral.

Scolecite is a delicate mineral with a fine crystalline structure, so it should be handled with care. It is advisable to protect it from impact, pressure, prolonged soaking, aggressive chemicals and ultrasonic cleaning. For normal maintenance, a fine dry brush or a soft cloth without pressure is sufficient.

1 piece = 1 original. With this natural mineral, the actual appearance of the individual specimen is what matters most – the crystal shape, color, luster, structure of the stilbite matrix and the overall aesthetics of the piece.
